Job Description

Provide safety coverage for library renovation project at Balboa Naval Base, San Diego:

• Manage safety orientation program and provide ongoing job-specific safety training.
• Coordinate and conduct safety meetings, to include materials, agendas, minutes, and attendance.
• Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log.
• Conduct investigations and complete required reports.
• Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and Daily Production reports for prime and subcontractors.
• Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Develop, implement, and enforce accepted Accident Prevention Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis.
• Ensure personnel and subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
• Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material safety data sheets.
• Ability to organize tasks and work efficiently without direct supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must have EM-385 certification and have updated training requirements that meet the CoE requirements.
• Must have OSHA 30 card.
• Must have current first aid/CPR card.
• Must be familiar with construction safety.
• Must be a good communicator and team oriented.
• Must be able to advise on OSHA, EM-385, EPA and other pertinent safety and environmental requirements.
• Must have experience providing safety at a large and complex job site
