We’re hiring an immigration paralegal to assist our legal team in preparing legal documents, filing motions, coordinating law office activity, and conducting legal research. Schedule: • 8-hour shift plus 30-minute Lunch Break • Monday to Friday PLEASE NOTE THAT A MINIMUM OF THREE YEARS OF LEGAL WORK EXPERIENCE AS AN IMMIGRATION PARALEGAL IS REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION. Responsibilities: • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings • Take care of administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system for all legal documents • Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer • Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues • Preparing USCIS application forms and memorandum in support of filings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for immigrant and non-immigrant visas • Conduct legal research and analysis related to immigration law, including researching and interpreting relevant statutes, regulations, and case law • Prepare and review legal documents, including petitions, applications, pleadings, legal briefs, and other filings, to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials, including preparing exhibits, conducting witness interviews, gathering evidence, assisting with client meetings, and filing motions • Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems • Manage and organize immigration cases, including tracking deadlines, maintaining case files, and communicating with clients and other parties • Perform other administrative duties as needed to support the attorneys and the immigration practice Qualifications: • 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills • Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired • Strong knowledge of immigration law and relevant regulations and statutes • Minimum of 3 years of immigration law-related work experience under the supervision of a licensed attorney or in a law firm setting • Extensive knowledge of visa, permanent residency, and secondary benefit applications and substantial experience in preparing such petition packages • Excellent legal research and analysis skills • Ability to prepare and review legal documents accurately and efficiently • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills • Experience with legal case management systems and software is a plus About Company: Since its founding, IvyLaw Law Office, LLC, has established a reputation for knowledgeable counsel and representation that focuses on clients’ immigration and estate planning needs.
