Medication Order Processing Specialist

The Medication Ordering Process Specialist will work remotely from 1 home office with a secure network. Only candidates residing in the states below at the time of employment will be considered.

Vivo Infusion Medication Ordering Process Specialist (MOPS):

We are looking for a licensed Pharmacy Technician (or similar license/certification/registration) to join our Medication Ordering Process Specialist (MOPS) team. The individual in this role will be responsible for referral order processing, patient counseling, provider education, collaboration across multiple departments, and supporting the pharmacy department to ensure clinical, operational, financial, and safety goals are met.

Compensation Range:

  • $22.00 - $25.00/HR

  • Bonus Plan Target: 5% Annually (Based on performance)

Primary responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and templating new orders and labs from a central location as they are received from referring offices.

  • Following the review of new orders, build treatment regimens within our EMR for templated orders.

    • Requesting new orders or more information from referring offices, when necessary, by phone and electronic fax.
    • Preparation of upcoming patient labs.
    • Coordination of Specialty Pharmacy/Free Drug Programs and medication delivery.
    • Ensures compliance with all local, State, Federal laws and statutes which are directly applicable to the company. Follows established policies, procedures, protocols, directives, and pharmacy operation standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent, required.
  • Licensed, Registered, or Certified Pharmacy Technician or similar clinical personnel, required.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of general healthcare operations.
  • Skilled and experienced in presenting information to a varied audience, communicating across multiple business units, and departments internally and externally. Must have strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA Privacy and Security Laws and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of medical necessity and quality improvement.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Self motivated with a proven ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Advanced PowerPoint, and work processing software.
  • Must understand software and technological tools within the education arena used by corporations, universities, and other entities.
  • Upholds personal and organizational ethical standards.
  • Skilled and experienced with presenting and training varied audiences with the ability to adjust approach as needed.
