Job Title: Computer engineer Location: Winnipeg, MB Renewable contract Area Code: 204, 431, and 584 Postal Code: R3H Start Date: Right Away Keywords: #Computer.engineering.jobs #Aerospace.industry #Software.design.jobs Belcan Canada Inc. is looking for Computer Engineer to join our client's Central Engineering team in Winnipeg, MB As a Computer Engineer you will work with part of the Central Engineering team, you will work with computer, electrical and mechanical engineers/technologists to create systems that are accurate, maintainable and easy to operator. You will be involved in every aspect of the design and implementation of these test systems including estimating, requirements gathering, technical analysis, troubleshooting, component selection/purchasing, commissioning and production support. Some travel will be required. What you"ll do:

  • Develop software for Engine Test Cell data acquisition and control using C#, SQL, and LabVIEW.
  • Integrate multiple data acquisition devices into a system capable of monitoring temperatures, pressures, rotational frequency, vibration, fluid flow rates, and other characteristics of a live running engine.
  • Support current engine test systems by responding to test failures, implementing new feature requests, and updating due to test requirement change or strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, OEM's and co-workers to gather needs/wants and translate them into technical requirements.
Education Requirements:  University degree in Computer Engineering with experience in software development, control systems, or data acquisition Position Requirements:
  • The position requires an understanding and application of data acquisition principles with majority of the activity focused on software development.
  • Knowledge of software design and documentation processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET.
  • Knowledge of database architecture and design.
  • Familiarity with software development and build tools
  • Strong capabilities for organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication.
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical problems and providing solutions.
  • Ability to travel to the United States, Canada, South Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 35% of the time.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW.
  • Experience with C# and SQL.
  • Experience using Data Acquisition Systems to acquire and analyze data.
  • Experience with control systems.
